What is the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA)?

ESTA is a free, automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the U.S. under the Visa Waiver Program. The ESTA application collects the same information collected on Form I-94W.  ESTA applications may be submitted anytime prior to travel, though it is recommended travelers apply when you begin preparing your travel plans.

 

How do I go about getting a VISA for the BIO International Convention?

Act early! All visa applicants are advised to apply for their visa as soon as travel to the United States is contemplated, and not later than 3-4 months in advance. For your convenience, you can generate a visa invitation letter populated with your information to confirm your participation and travel to the 2012 BIO International Convention available.

 

What is the Visa Waiver Program?

The Visa Waiver Program allows foreign nationals from certain countries to travel to the U.S. for business or pleasure, for 90 days or less, without obtaining a Visa.

 

What is an International Delegation?

An International Delegation is an official group of 10 or more attendees from a country other than the U.S. that is organized on a national level often lead by high level state and government officials.

 

Does my country have an International Delegation?

At least 30 countries are organizing official delegations to the 2012 BIO International Convention. Find out if your country has an International Delegation this year and join!

  

Are there programs specifically with an international focus?

Yes, throughout the four days of the event you will find concentrated international programming. As well you will benefit from numerous networking opportunities among 15,000+ thought leaders from around the world.

 

Are there special events planned for Public Officials at BIO?

We are planning a program for public officials to ensure that those ministers, commissioners, premiers, and other high-level policy makers who come to our convention have a valuable and meaningful experience. Public officials at the ministerial level and above are eligible for a complimentary registration to the 2012 BIO International Convention. Email international@bio.org for more information.
